Richmond, Virginia, U.S. – April 18, 2012 – SoftChalk, LLC, a leading developer of content authoring software for e-Learning, today announced the three winners and honorable mentions for its annual Lesson Challenge.
The Lesson Challenge, an online contest that runs from November through January each year, gives SoftChalk enthusiasts a chance to show off the innovative content they have created with SoftChalk’s content authoring solution. All entries are required to be uploaded and shared by their author on SoftChalk CONNECT, SoftChalk’s learning object repository.
The entries are reviewed by a panel of leading online educators and scored using a Quality Matters judging rubric with specific categories including lesson creativity, professionalism, interactivity, and how well the lesson reinforces student learning.
This year’s winning lessons include the 1st place grand-prize winner, Karen Walker of St. Petersburg College with a lesson titled Improving Your Spelling, the 2nd place prize winner, Marilyn Larsen of College of the Mainland with The Real Numbers, and the 3rd place winner, Sally Baldwin of OC Global with a lesson titled PHED 1306 First Aid.
Three honorable mentions were also selected. Sara Mangat of Alvin Community College with a lesson titled, Online Lecture: Nonverbal Messages, Phillip Clark of Scottsdale Community College with Sequences and Series, and Dr. Jim Brown of Ocean County Community College with Introduction to Public Health.
