Learn how a tech support team uses SoftChalk to create online scavenger hunts to engage users with online instructional content, address common technical questions, and track user attempts for prizes. Participants will identify “pinch points” in their own curriculum and discuss ways to incorporate scavenger hunts into instruction for the ultimate reward: increased learner comprehension.

SoftChalk lessons are a great way to convert class resources into an online experience. But, how do you create interest and interactivity that hooks learners in and keeps them engaged along the way? Learn techniques for adding visual flair to your lessons using SoftChalk’s authoring tools and new ways to merge text, media, images and activities together to create something that is better than the sum of its parts.

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley
This presentation showcases a distinctive strategy to create “pedagogical pathways” through SoftChalk lessons to increase student engagement and save instructor time. This approach involves ungraded, low-stakes assessments, and yet ensures that students engage with all course content. Attendees will learn how to integrate these pathways into their own courses.

Employing SoftChalk lessons, presenters promote learner engagement while exhibiting Quality Matters standards. Given to learners early in their college experience, these lessons facilitate meeting a variety of specific QM standards by utilizing SC activities. They articulate resources and services as well as clarify LMS navigation.

Yakima Valley College
Drawing on her experience teaching flipped handbuilding and pottery classes before and after the pandemic and online clay and design during the pandemic, Rachel will discuss the time management and studio/equipment access advantages of flipped and hybrid studio classes, and the ways in which SoftChalk lessons can simulate “hands-on” learning as a replacement or supplement to live studio experiences.

In this 20-minute spotlight session, SoftChalk Trainer, Dana Thompson, will demonstrate the new and enhanced features that were included in the latest release.

In this 25-minute feature spotlight session, SoftChalk Trainer Dana Thompson will focus on how you can integrate your existing SoftChalk lessons into your learning management system (LMS) using the Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) link so learner scores report to the LMS.
We’ll complete a lesson as a learner and tour the detailed score report (SoftChalk ScoreCenter) that automatically populates in the LMS. We will also explore the SoftChalk Cloud profile based ScoreCenter which can be used for score reporting when you are tracking scores outside of an LMS.

Harford Community College
This workshop will teach you how to create accessible and platform-agnostic e-learning content using SoftChalk. You will discover SoftChalk’s built-in accessibility features, which allow you to create content compliant with WCAG 2.1 guidelines and accessible to learners with disabilities. You will also learn how to use SoftChalk’s intuitive interface to create interactive and engaging e-learning content and how to publish your content in HTML5 format for compatibility with any device or platform.
By the end of the workshop, you will have the knowledge and skills to create high-quality e-learning content that is accessible and platform-agnostic using SoftChalk.
